Approval: St. Alphonsus School is fully accredited by the State of North Dakota for PreK-8th grade. All of the classroom teachers are licensed, highly qualified, and experienced educators. St. A's takes part in all required state testing and state reporting requirements.
Background: St. Alphonsus School was founded in 1921 and opened for all elementary, middle school, and high school grades required at the time. In 1968, St. Alphonsus School decided to down size the school to an elementary and middle school program providing up to 8th grades classes. Currently, St. Alphonsus School is in the 96th year of providing Faith Based Education to students in the Langdon, ND area. The school has a Pre-School program that runs three days per week as well as the K-8th grade regular classes that are everyday of the school week.
Religion: Students participate in Biblical principles each and every day through prayer, religion classes, weekly Mass services, and various outreach events. St. Alphonsus School believes in a Faith Based Education and the importance of building the school on the foundation of the Gospel.
School Programs: Subject areas at St. A's include: Math, Science, Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Spelling, etc.), Social Studies, Religion, Art, Physical Education, Technology, Health and Music. All subjects are taught from a foundation in faith and the Bible. State requirements and state testing standards are met in all classes for a private school. We also have a library program for our students and an up to date computer lab for all students and classes to use throughout the school day.
